Kolomyia Educational and Scientific Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University is a higher educational institution with a Level IV accreditation. Its mission, in line with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine’s concept for the development of education in Ukraine, is to meet the educational needs of the Pokuttia region and ensure the continuity of the educational process.
The institute was established by the order of the Minister of Education of Ukraine No. 218 dated June 24, 1999, and the Rector of the University No. 102-a dated June 30, 1999, as a structural unit of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. The institute’s objectives include providing educational, scientific-methodological, scientific, educational, and cultural activities; ensuring the quality training of professionals for professional activities; organizing independent educational and research work for students; and facilitating the retraining and advanced training of specialists.
The institute enrolls students from Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Bukovina, Zhytomyr, and Ternopil regions. It prepares specialists at the bachelor’s level in both full-time and part-time forms of study in the following specialties: 013 Primary Education, 014 Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature), 014 Secondary Education (Physical Education); and in part-time form: 014 Secondary Education (History), 053 Psychology.
Three departments operate within the institute, staffed by highly qualified instructors with academic titles and appropriate levels of preparation. Additionally, students benefit from the expertise of leading specialists from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
Research activities at the institute are represented by publications in various Ukrainian scientific journals, educational and methodological literature, and active participation of scientific and pedagogical staff in international, national, and regional scientific conferences. The institute publishes collections of materials from annual scientific conferences, numerous collective collections of scientific works, and monographs.
Students also actively participate in research activities, making their first steps in science as participants in annual student conferences. The best materials from these conferences are published in the annual university-wide collection “Eureka.”
Under the guidance of the administration and group academic advisors, students actively engage in community, cultural, and sports activities. There is a student council that organizes leisure and living arrangements.
