Mykola Vasylchuk originally hails from the village of Velykyi Kliuchiv (Kolomyia district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine). He is the alumnus of Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University majoring in Ukrainian.
In the 1986–1990 timeframe, he worked as a journalist in Zhashkiv (Cherkasy region, Ukraine) as well as in Kolomyia (Visnyk Kolomyi, Vsevido) in 1990–1996 and then as a deputy editor-in-chief of Vilnyi Holos (1996–2003).
1990 – Present – Member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine.
1992–1997 – Academy Secretary at the National Museum of Hutsulshchyna & Pokuttya Folk Art (Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk district, Ukraine), editor-in-chief of Narodnyi Dim journal.

2003 – PhD thesis defense at the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The title of the thesis is The Ukrainian publications in Kolomyia (the second half of the XIX–XX century): the historic-functional and thematic aspects (scientific supervisor – Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine Vasyl Lyzanchuk).

In 2011, it was conferred upon him an academic status of Associate Professor.
Commencing in 2011, he is a doctoral student of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
He is the author of a little under 1,500 published works, among which more than three dozen books (poetry, press and literature studies, history of art, textbooks on philology). In 1993, he translated the first unique book about the Hutsul region A Historical Essay on Hutsulschyna by Sofron Witwicki from Polish; he systematized the collection Vincenziana (2008).
In 2018, Mykola Vasylchuk managed to reveal the enigma of the ‘Hutsul’ ethnicon.
Mykola Vasylchuk is the St. Job Pochaivskyi Literary Prize honoree (2001), the Taras Melnychuk Literary Prize winner, the Mariika Pidihrianka Literary Award holder (2006), and the Vasyl Stefanyk Literary Prize taker (2012).
Separate works of fiction and scholarly papers by Mykola Vasylchuk have been translated into English, German, Polish, Russian, and Czech.
Mariia Chepil is the renowned Ukrainian powerlifter, Master of Sports of Ukraine in powerlifting (2001), Master of Sports of Ukraine, World Class (2002); resides in Kolomyia. She is the alumnus of Ivano-Frankivsk Secondary Technical School of Physical Education (1990, with honours) as well as Kolomyia Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (2004).
She has been a member of the Ukrainian national powerlifting team for more than ten years; many-time champion of Ukrainian and European tournaments.
From 2003 until 2005 she worked as a coach-instructor in powerlifting at Children’s and Youth Sports School “Ukraine”.
Since 2005 she has been working at the Kolomyia Institute; now, she is a senior lecturer at the Department of Education Science and Psychology. Through 2010 to 2014, Ms. Chepil was a postgraduate student in Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, majoring in “Physical culture. Physical education of various population groups”.
Mariia Chepil has been competing in the Ukrainian national powerlifting team since the early 2000s.
